The King Hats
History
“Testosterone fuelled post punk mash-up… a rock n roll riot created with a lot of imagination and performed like a kick in the balls.”
(Heather Minto, Noise Makes Enemies, 2008)
The King Hats were formed in Glasgow sometime in 2007. We can’t be more specific than it was still light in the evenings. Alan, Bert and Russell were up to all sorts at a mate’s party when they got chatty and started making plans of booking a rehearsal room and making some serious noise. We needed some bang bang into the plan and so Carlo got the call. We started writing songs with the only intention being that we loved playing them. Our first gig was in September ’07 and we have since supported Twisted Wheel at King Tuts and were the main support this year for Ida Maria’s Scottish dates.
We have been developing our sound from day one and it could be loosely described as alternative/indie/punk, with each of us having a wide range of influences that comes through in our songs.
The only thing for you to do now is go and see them live for yourself.
