History

Formed in 2005 and finalised in Summer ’07 Captain Magenta began their life as a band searching for a name, and by the time that the core of the material which formed their EP had been recorded, they were no closer to achieving their goal. Having played one gig without a name, borrowing from its acoustic predecessor (RedBlack), they eventually (by a stroke of good luck) agreed on Captain Magenta, and finally had focus.

Following a change of line up in summer 2007 the band began work on some new material, resulting in two new singles “Make You Mine” and “Open Your Eyes” which will be available autumn 2008 through myspace and other networking sites. The future’s bright, the future’s MAGENTA!(sorry)

Reviews:
“Purveyors of hard rock with a pop edge akin to their Glasgow based counterparts ‘Six Star Hotel’, for fans of big riffs and unabashed guitar solos.” – The Cabaret Voltaire

“It’s not known how much time they deliberated on what to call said EP – imaginatively they settled on Captain Magenta EP – but the important thing is, it’s actually rather good.” – Edinburgh Evening News
