14th August 2008

A creative frenzy took place when the Shout out Louds came on stage with their passion for rhythms and every percussion instrument under the sun getting banged on, it was hard not to toe tap.
All five members of the band fused together excellently feeding off their obvious love of the music they make.
From Stockholm, Sweden their second album ‘Ill Wills’ was produced by Bjorn Ytlling of Peter, Bjorn and John fame – the album is an instrumental layer cake with nothing simple about it. I was interested to see how this would transfer into a live set and they achieved it by using every member of the band to their fullest with no one person taking the spot light.

The Shout out Louds aren’t afraid to change things – mixing it up and playing what they feel is right at the time.
The crowd really appreciated them as one man said behind me:
“They are weird but I like them”.
The Shout out Louds pounding rhythms and catchy pop tunes made even a man on crutches have a go at bobbing along; their happy upbeat sound is so infectious.
The crowd all had very good hair and either it was a lumber jack bank holiday or checked shirts must be in fashion!
All in all I think the Shout out Louds are tipped for greatness – if not I don’t think they’ll mind as they seem to love creating and playing the tunes they love anyway.
